.ast file error messages
With .ast imports most errors can be resolved by manually adding a student to e-asTTle and matching the file value shown on the upload error page. Once completed, you will need to re-import the file.
Below are some common errors. Please see Help with e-asTTle - Import troubleshooting for more detailed information and examples.
The data in the .ast file and the data in e-asTTle do not match
In this example, there is a mismatch between the student's known/common name and legal name.
You will need to confirm the student’s legal name, not common/known names. Once you have confirmed the legal name of the student, make the required changes in e-asTTle (Manage Students > Manage Existing Students) and your SMS system.
Once changes have been made to the correct legal name, upload the file again to see if the issue is resolved. If the issue is not resolved, send the .ast file to the Education Service Desk to investigate further or, contact your SMS (Student Management System) vendor for assistance.
- Call your vendor if you are unsure how to make changes within your SMS system.
- To import an .ast student data file, please refer to How to import student data (.ast file)
NSN ID already in use
Any import that leads to duplicate NSNs within e-asTTle will result in an error and the import of the student will be stopped. To resolve this, you will need to confirm the NSN in question and verify which student it belongs to. This could be caused by the NSN being wrong within e-asTTle or the .ast file itself.
Once you have corrected the error, try to upload the .ast file again to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, send the .ast file to the Education Service Desk to investigate further.
